The challenge
Our client came to us with a unique opportunity to publish in the current yearís NFL Alumni magazine. They wanted an ad that would speak loudly to their audience and produce the sales results they were after.

The process
Our first step was to educate Overdrive on the desired goals of such an ad. Having gained their trust in previous projects, our client was ready to take on our advice, which consisted of:
  • making the ad mimic the magazine's look & feel so as to pull readers into its content, as opposed to standard ad layouts which create rejection

  • speaking to a focused audience within a certain age group and specific executive roles

  • producing powerful copy that, starting with a strong headline, would call out to the reader as if shouting out his or her name

  • including testimonials that spoke directly to this audience about others' similar experiences

  • prompting the reader to take action by inviting him or her to download a free report on improving productivity

The ad was completed in timely fashion, and the promised report written by Red Frog as well.

The report: an example of powerful Marketing
The report achieved three very important objectives:
  1. to position our client as an expert in its industry

  2. to track the success of the ad via the number of hits to the download page

  3. to allow Overdrive to follow up in the future with those expressing interest, letting the relationship flourish up to the point of making the sale

The outcome
A very strong ad that is being tested for its effectiveness in this particular publication, and targeting the carefully chosen audience.
